Under 17 Recruitment Set To Begin

Recruitment into the Ghana under 17 Football Team is set to begin nationwide.

The recruitment exercise will be handled by the Technical Team of the national under 17 Football Team and will start from January 14 and ends on January 31, 2016.

This exercise would enable the Technical handlers to scout for players born on or after 1st January, 2000.

The Regional Sports Development Officers (R.S.D.O) and Regional Coaches will support the Technical Team in a mini tournament for the players in each of the capitals. The recruitment exercise will be done in phases and players are to report at various centres with proof of birth certificates and other necessary documents and training kits.

The phase two of the exercise would involve a justifier at prampram for the selected players from the regions from February 3 to 4th, 2016, whilst the phase three would involve players from Academies nationwide, who would join the Airtel Rising Stars for another justifier from February 5– 7, 2016

Phase four would see players from the phase three exercise joining those from the Regions to make up the core of the final team which will start camping from February 9, 2016.

All selected players will go through an MRI scan and players who fail this scan will be disqualified and replaced with players who are on standby due to number or positions available.

The dates for the exercises in the various regions are as follows: Tamale, January 14– 16, Bolgatanga, January 17– 19, Wa, January 20–22, Sunyani - January 23– 24, Kumasi - January 25, Takoradi - January 26, Cape Coast, January 27, Koforidua - January 28, Ho - January 29 and Accra - January 30– 31, 2016.
