Catholic Women Urged To Re-Position Themselves For Growth

Ms Dzifa Gomashie, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has advised women in the Catholic faith to re-strategise and re-position themselves for the development of the nation.

She urged them to lay down their lives for the growth and development of the church, adding that “you have a set of principles that you need to abide with as a Catholic woman.”

Ms Gomashie was speaking during the Accra Catholic Archdiocesan Women Inaugural meeting in Accra on the theme “The Responsibility of the Catholic Woman towards Creation.”

The meeting is an annual event, which brings Catholic women in the Accra Archdioceses together to deliberate on developmental issues for the growth of the church.

The Deputy Minister said Christian women, especially the Catholic women need to provide good examples for their children, the society and the country at large to follow.

She advised women to raise their children in the fear of the Lord and endeavour to protect the nature, God has given to mankind.

Mrs Cecila Yankey, Archdiocesan President of Catholic Women Association, said as women, their lives should be example to other Christian women in the society.

She called on the women to take good care of their children, especially their educational needs to build them for the future.

“It’s our responsibility to take care of our children and extend it to others in society together with our husbands,” she added.
