Intolerance? NDC Can Do Without NPPs Sermons Twum Boafo

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kwadwo Twum Boafo has asked the New Patriotic Party (NPP), to save their pontifications on intolerance, particularly to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He says the NDC can do without the NPP’s sermon on intolerance if their brand of tolerance is the benchmark to root for.

“… When people have been wounded at their headquarters, we have seen people wielding machetes, pangas, go-to-hell, guns, and you have the instances where officers concerned literally had to escape from the booth of a van. So if that is their benchmark on tolerance, then President Mahama will not be preached to on tolerance”, he said.

Kwadwo Twum Boafo was speaking on Radio Gold on Thursday, in reaction to recent claims by the NPP that President Mahama could do with some tolerance for divergent views after he questioned the qualification of the likes of Dr. Mahamud Bawumia to criticize him and call him and his administration “incompetent”.

“We have heard their flagbearer refer to militants on his side, talk about all-die-be-die, yƐn AkanfoƆ, lewd and insidious references to the anatomy of men, a la obiaa deƐ mienu, mienu, and all those, I could lecture you on the history of intolerance when it comes to the NPP flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and indeed his party.

“We were in Ghana when after he lost elections he ordered his gang of brigands and buccaneers and highway robbers to descend on people at Obra Spot and beat them … We have heard assigns of him talking about bombing …in order that they will claim power…”, he said.

Twum Boafo wondered what tolerance the NPP talks about when their flagbearer attempted to go to court in the middle of the night to attempt to overturn the will of the people after he lost an election, when the same person took the whole country to court because he had lost an election.
