Ghanaian Managing Director For Obuasi Mine

Kwesi Enyan, General Manager, Operations, and Deputy Managing Director of Anglogold Ashanti�s Obuasi Mine has been appointed managing director of the mine. The appointment takes effect from September 14. Mr. Enyan will be responsible for all operations and activities in the mine and report directly to Keith Faulkner, Vice president, Anglogold Ashanti Ghana. e was educated at the United Kingdom�s Camborne School of Mines, where he obtained a BSc degree in Mining Engineering in 1983. He joined the then Ashanti Goldfields Company 14 years ago as a Hydrafill Engineer. He has also undertaken several courses in management in Ghana and abroad. Mr Enyan is taking over from Mr. Faulkner, who has been playing the dual role of Anglogold Ashanti (AGA) Vice president of Ghana and managing director � Obuasi, to enable Mr. Faulkner to move to the AGA office to focus on his role as the vice president Ghana, responsible for Obuasi and Iduapriem operations. Mr. Enyan, 52, who is also chairman of the interim management committee of Ashantigold Sporting club, is marred to Mrs. Hagar Enyan, with five children.
