No Time To Waste On NPPs Useless Debate On Voters Register... - Asiedu Nketiah

General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah says his party is not ready to engage the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a useless debate over the voters’ register.

According to him, as far as the NDC is concerned, the Electoral Commission has concluded on the matter; to maintain the current register to conduct the 2016 elections.

He added that the EC, as a matter of public knowledge, has announced its intention to clean up the register of all those who are dead and through the impending de-duplication exercise as well as the limited registration exercise.

Responding to NPP’s latest press conference on a new voters’ register for the 2016 elections, the NDC Chief Scribe on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show said; “I don’t have to time to waste by responding to NPP’s press conference. As I talk with you, I am in the field working for my party; we are on our way from Sunyani to Tamale and so the NPP should stay in Accra to organize press conference on the voters’ register.

He reiterated that the issue with the voters’ register is dead because the 5 Member Panel set up to look into the NPP’s claim of alleged irregularities in the register has finished with its work; thus the ruling party has no time to pander to the whims o the opposition party.

He however pledged that the NDC is ready to comply with the decision of the Electoral Commission as the constitution demands; stressing there is no time to waste for any further debate on the issue of voters’ register.

We don’t have time to waste on useless argument because the evidence is clear; every Ghanaian saw how the allegations of the NPP were examined and it has been ascertain that the EC cannot grant the request of the NPP”, he insisted.
