One of the aspirants for the Conventions Peoples Party (CPP), for the CPP’s presidential ticket, Onzy Nkrumah has accused the party’s former Chairperson and her sister Samia Nkrumah of masterminding his disqualification from race. 

Dr. Nkrumah was disqualified by executives of the CPP for not complying with the party’s laid down rules. 

Speaking to Citi News, Onzy Nkrumah said the CPP’s decision to disqualify him was undemocratic.

He said there were instances when his posters were removed illegally by supposed allies to Samia Nkramah describing it as disgraceful.

“…I find it very difficult and unfortunate that she is trying everything to bring me down, not only her but her friends…why are they doing that for? Why are they only targeting me and not the others? So it is obvious.”

He said the bullying attitude should not be allowed in Ghana’s democratic processes.

“…You cannot bully your way around like that, it’s unacceptable. They will put down anything that had my pictures, they will destroy it. I believe there were 20 of my large posters and two larger banners which were removed. I think after the banners were removed some of my people recovered them. But I want to say that this is a disgraceful behavior,” he opined.

Meanwhile the CPP is expected to complete the vetting of the qualified aspirants today, Friday.
