A group calling itself 'Volta NDC' has congratulated former Chief of Staff, Prosper Douglas Bani on his appointment as the Minister Designate for Interior.
President John Mahama in a latest reshuffle appointed Mr Bani to replace Hon Mark Woyongo Member of Parliament (MP) for Navrongo Central.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, signed by Simon Amegashie-Viglo (Secretary), the group believes the appointment of Mr Bani is 'an expression of the President's confidence and trust in his (Bani) capacity' to help the ruling government succeed.
"We also believe that the President has taken notice of your huge sacrifices for and commitment to the party in the Volta Region since you left office as the Chief of Staff. We trust you will use your position as the Minister of the Interior to further strengthen the party to ensure our victory in November 2016 general elections. Accept our congratulations" the statement added.
