Kenichi is not what Hearts of Oak need Tamakloe

The Phobians chief has called for an immediate termination of the Japanese’s contract to stand a chance of making an impact in the new season.

Hearts of Oak board member Nyaho Tamakloe claims the team’s coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi lacks what it takes to return the club to winning ways and must therefore be shown the exit.

Many have questioned the experience of the Japanese whose previous highest jobs were at the Aspire Academy in Qatar and Suzuyo Shimizu, a Japanese professional women's team.

The 46-year-old has been unable to convince his doubters following a below par showing in pre-season ahead of the new campaign.

“I strongly believe he [Kenichi] cannot do the job,” Tamakloe told Joy Sports.

“He looks like what we call a long term coach and I am not surprised he used to handle juvenile clubs.

“He builds the strength of the boys but when it comes to serious coaching, Hearts is a big club and if we are going to get serious in the league, then he is not the type of person who should handle the club.

“He has been here for some time now and I have monitored them and I don’t see any game plan and any tactical formation when they are playing. Mind you, these are all coaching problems.”

Kenichi signed a two-year contract last October, and oversaw a 5-0 aggregate defeat to Libyan side Al Ahli Tripoli in their pre-season tour of the North African country, following an earlier 4-1 defeat to Wafa.

The side also failed to progress beyond the group stage in the 2016 Ghalca G6 Tournament.

Hearts finished a place above the relegation zone on the 13th spot last season.
