Hollywood A-lister Kevin Hart Uses �Kente� In Ride Along 2

Yes! – The Kente cloth known as “nwentom” in Akan has been used in a 2016 American action comedy film directed by Tim Story and written by Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi.
The Universal Pictures released January 15, 2016 movie dubbed Ride Along 2 starred Hollywood stars - Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Ken Jeong, Benjamin Bratt, Olivia Munn, Bruce McGill and Tika Sumpter.
Amazingly – leading actor Kevin Darnell Hart used the Kente cloth in the movie which was released in Turkey earlier this year.
The American actor, comedian, writer, and producer in an outing scene in the movie used the Kente as a sash on a sea blue jacket match with a white shirt and black necktie.
Background of Kente
Kente cloth has its origin with the Ashanti Kingdom, and was adopted by people in Ivory Coast and many other West African counties. It is an Akan royal and sacred cloth worn only in times of extreme importance and was the cloth of kings.
Over time, the use of kente became more widespread. However, its importance has remained and it is held in high esteem with Akans.
It is the best known of all African textiles. Kente comes from the word kenten, which means basket in Akan dialect Asante. Akans refer to kente as nwentoma, meaning woven cloth.
