Philip Boampong unhappy with treatment at Hearts of Oak

The former Phobians centre-back has revealed the difficult moments he went through before parting ways with club ahead of the new season.

Sekondi Hasaacas new signing Philip Boampong claims he was unfairly treated by his former club Hearts of Oak, who parted ways with him ahead of the 2015-16 campaign.

The 26-year-old defender was released hours before the close of the transfer window on Wednesday, leaving him without a club until he was snapped up by Hasaacas an hour to the transfer deadline.

“Hearts didn't treat me fairly on transfer final day,” Boampong told Oman FM.

“After serving the club all these years, this is how they treated me but I leave everything to their conscience. The club wasn't interested in my services anymore but none of the leaders were ready to communicate the decision to me.

“I'm told the coach did not need me in his squad even when he hadn't met me. He was never happy with me around and I think they should have released me earlier. In any case, what was my crime?

“I’m still harbouring bitterness because if a club releases players on transfer deadline day, how are they expecting such a players to find a new team within such a short period,” he added.
