Wanted Robbers Grabbed

Four suspected armed robbers, whose name have been on the Police wanted list for some time have been nabbed by the Madina Police in Accra. The suspected armed robbers were identified s Yaw Bawah, 36, Jojo Bawah 32, Kwame Ayariga 20, and Francis Kweku Bawah, 48. They were arrested at their hide-out at Madina In Accra. Briefing Daily Guide yesterday, Chief Superintendent Paul K. Ayitey, Madina Divisional Commander, said on Sunday September 13, 2009, around 6am, the police conducted a swoop at Madina and its environs in search of criminals. He said the police then extended the exercise to a place believed to be the hide-out for thieves and armed robbers; where the four men were subsequently apprehended. He said two of the suspected robbers, Yaw Bawah and Jojo Bawah, who have been involved in a series of robberies and declared wanted by the police were grabbed whilst Kwame Ayariga and Francis Kweku Bawah are believed to be their accomplices. �A search conducted in their place of residence led to the retrieval of two military caps, a number of mobile phones and identity cards belonging to one Doris Yeboah of Universal Clinic and Addo Raphael of Elrapha Clinic. The Chief Superintendent revealed that investigations are on going to find out if they were involved in other crimes. He therefore called on individuals who have fallen victims to their robbery escapades to report to the Madina Police as investigations continue.
