Respect Catholic Bishops And Christian Council At Least Ace Ankomah Advises Politicians

Ghanaian lawyer and also founding member of pressure group ‘OccupyGhana’, Ace Ankomah has advised Ghanaians especially politicians to be extremely mindful of words that come out of their mouths against the clergy.

According to him, politicians cannot shut down religious groups or their leaders or any individual from speaking or airing their views on behalf of Ghanaians by way of making false pronouncements against them as if they are not stakeholders in the country.

He advised that; “Leadership of this country ought to speak with persons they pay to manage their communication affairs with the media . . . because if they won’t respect me (Ace Ankomah), at least they should respect the Catholic Bishops’ and the Christian Council members.”

“It is not right to say that the fact that religious leaders did not speak on some past issues at a time does not grant them the permission to speak now on issues they feel should be addressed concerning the economy. After all no one has gone to check on past statements of political violence issues they have addressed which were not even brought in to the public domain, but were effectively considered and used to curb the issues at hand,”  he indicated in an interview with JOY FM’s  super morning show host Kojo Yankson.
