Money Swine: NDC Forms Billionaires Club

Come Sunday September 27, 2009, all roads would lead to the auditorium and environs of the famous Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi where the National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans to organise a fund-raising event for the party. Dubbed the Billionaires Club the NDC, famed for its prowess in magnetically rallying and pulling the resources of all the movers and shakers in the party, when it comes to fund-raisers, plans to use the Kumasi meeting to solicit funds to retool the partys administrative structures. Towards that end every conceivable space at Kejetia, Adum, KNUST, Abrepo, Fante New Town and others, have been dropped and bedecked with posters advertising the up-coming congregation of the Billionaires and the non-mix riches in the party at the Assembly Hall at the weekend. Currently, adorning approaches to the Prempeh Assembly Hall at Bompata, others are at the STC workshop at Oforikrom etc. the poster have the words Billionaires Club boldly advertising the NDCs intent to converge on the Prempeh Assembly Hall, next Sunday. The objective is raiding funds to keep the oil of the party functioning. The New Punch newspaper investigations found that friends of Ms. Dr Hannah Bissiw, the Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, are the organizers. The New Punch also found out that the Secretary for the Kumasi event is one Ashia with Richard O. Cobbiahs name given as chairman. The others are Hajia, 31st December PRO. Time for the event is 12 noon - on the poster titled Billionaires Club. The main agenda for Sundays meeting is suggestive enough! Dont be there, if you dont have One Billion! Claims a source which confirmed this to the New Punch Newspaper. The advertised names on the posters are Professor of the Republic of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, and Ms. Dr Hannah Bissiw, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Water Resources Worlds and Housing. It would be recalled that in 1996 and 2000 when the party held such fund-raises, the party garnered billions of cedis with individual NDC members donating hefty sums of money when at the time hardly anyone had heard of people being that rich.
