Corruption Now A Profession Under Prez Mahama; People Arent Afraid To Steal - Titus Glover

Member of Parliament for Tema East on the ticket of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Daniel Nii Titus Glover says people in the public sector now see corruption as a profession under the Mahama-led government.

He added that due to the leadership style of President John Dramani Mahama, people are not afraid to engage in corruption.

Corruption is now a profession under Mahama. Even when resources are available to them, they are unable to manage it but rather choose to loot the state. They actually do it with impunity and with a style. In fact, incompetent Mahama and the NDC must go,” he stated.

The situation has become worse because the NDC government sees nothing wrong with looting the state's resources, Titus Glover added.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show 'Dwaso Nsem' on account of the several thousand 'ghost names' on the Controller and Accountant General's (CAGD) pay roll, Hon. Titus Glover said Ghana would have been ten times better off if it was being run under the leader of Nana Akufo-Addo with the numerous resources and huge funds available to the present NDC administration.

Government has been battling to rid the payroll system of ghost names but the problem still persists, despite the fact that NPP in 2003 was able to reduce ghost names from government payroll from 15,800 to 3,800 under Osafo Mafo as the Finance Minister.

In order to halt the payment of such monies the CAGD in September 2014, suspended salaries of about 20,000 employees without bank accounts.

The NPP MP for Tema East pointed out that these names are inserted by persons within the system, and it is up to the government to ensure they are cleaned in order to stop the wastage of national resources which eventually send us on our knees to the IMF and the World Bank for bailout.

He asserted that the Mahama government has turned a blind eye to the growing canker in the public sector and it has eventually empowered peopl in the sector engage in corruption.

Hon. Titus Glover therefore called on Ghanaians to vote out the ‘incompetent’ NDC government in the 2016 election to bring back the country on the good track former President Kufuor started.
