Buipewura Jinapo II on Thursday January 21 2016 banished the nephew and secretary of Mankpanwura Alhaji S S Gbankulso and family from Buipe.
The directive was that, nobody in Buipe should talk to the family, the family has no permit to buy and sell in Buipe, they have also been band from entering Buipe market.
The reason behind the directives is a boundary dispute between Buipewura Jinapo II and Mankpanwura Gbeadese Bakari I.
According to the Mankpanwura, the Buipewura has been claiming ownership of a parcel of land that belongs to him for sometime now.the dispute has been reported to the Gonja Traditional council for investigation.
Awaiting for report from the comitee set up by Gonja council, Buipewura purportedly came out with a report indicating that it was the commitee's dicision and has therefore insisted on taking the land from Mankpan traditional area, according to the Mankpanwura.
This has since created tension between Buipewura and the Mankpan traditional area, as result, the Mankpanwura has taken the issue to court for amicable settlement.
Buipewura has locked up Sorewura's washing bay since September 2015 till date and the issue has also been court said Mankpanwura.
Inview of that, Mankpanwura Gbedese Bakari I on a press release said " I wish to tell Buipewura that any directive isued against sorewura is a directive against me and my traditional area, because sorewura is working on my behalf and on behalf of the Mankpan traditional area.
As we are seeking an amicable cort settlement, I want Buipewura to know that any attempt by him to threaten sorewura would met with equal response from me and my people since Sorewura is working on our behalf.
