Cuban Embassy opens Book of Condolence for Juan Almeida

The Cuban Embassy in Accra has opened a Book of Condolence for Juan Almeida Bosque, one of the Vice-presidents of the Council of State of Cuba, who died in Havana, Cuba, last Friday. A statement issued in Accra on Tuesday said the Book of Condolence would be open at the Embassy from September 15-17 from 1000 hours to 1200 hours each day. The statement said Juan Almeida Bosque would always be an emblematic figure of the Cuban Revolution. It said Almeida, the Commander of the Cuban Revolution, was a direct participant in the first line of combat alongside former President Fidel Castro and President Ral Castro, as well as a richly creative musician and writer. The statement said Almeidas remains would be interred with full military honours in the Mario Muoz Monroy Mausoleum of the Third Eastern Front, of which he was the founder and chief, on a date to be announced.
