CPP Holds Maiden Presidential Debate

The maiden Convention People’s Party (CPP) presidential debate comes off today in Accra at Studio B of TV Africa.

The debate, which will be carried live by TV Africa will start at 7p.m. prompt.

Four aspirants

The CPP has slated its presidential primaries for Saturday, January 29 to Sunday, January 30, 2016. Four candidates have so far picked and submitted nomination forms to contest the primaries. They include Madam Yaaba Samia Nkrumah, a former chairperson of the party and former MP for Jomoro, Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet a former two-time

General Secretary of the CPP, Mr Bright Akwetey, a leading member of the party, and Mr Joseph Agyepong, a party stalwart in the diaspora and businessman.

Objective of debate

The objective of the debate is to test the understanding of the four aspiring presidential candidates of the party on the national economy and general issues bordering on governance.

This maiden Presidential debate is the first of its kind in the political history of Ghana, according to the party.

It stated that it was happy to be associated with this landmark achievement and innovation estimated at broadening the frontiers of democracy.
