Leicester Boss Ranieri Lauds Daniel Amarteys Versatility

The Foxes manager is happy with the versatility of his latest recruit ahead of decisive games against Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri has hailed the versatility of new signing Daniel Amartey ahead of the defender’s imminent debut.

The 21-year-old Ghana international completed a four-and-half-year move to the Premier League side last week from Danish giants Copenhagen, joining compatriots Jeffrey Schlupp and Joe Dodoo at the King Power Stadium.

Amartey, formerly of Ghanaian side Inter Allies, can play in central defense, right-back or in midfield.

“It’s good to have one player that can permit me to change something during the match,” Ranieri told the Foxes’ official website.

“He’s a good player, strong, with good quality, a hard worker, and he has our spirit.

“He’s a strong man and he can play in a lot of positions. He can play centre-back, right-back, central midfield and right midfield.

“It’s important for me to have another very good young player.”

Amartey first moved to Swedish side Djurgadens IF following his days in the Ghanaian topflight with Allies.

With eight senior caps for Ghana, he could make his Premier League bow when the Foxes host Liverpool on Tuesday.

Leicester currently stand three points clear at the top of the league table, with matches against Manchester City and Arsenal to follow after their Liverpool fixture.
