NPP Sets February 13 To Resolve All Internal Electoral Issues

Director of Elections of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah has hinted there has been a meeting of the Steering Committee of the party to put to rest all the internal election issues in five constituencies in February 13, 2016.

We have decided to make a move to resolve the court cases quite quickly and we have given ourselves time and so I can promise you that by end of 13th February 2016, we should be able to resolve all these outstanding issues our primaries and move forward," he said.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show in answer to concerns raised by Hon. Dr Mark Assibey Yeboah that the NPP has delayed in resolving all outstanding internal election issues, Mr. Mensah Korsah said some of the parties involved in these issues will be met to discuss the way forward.

He added that though five constituencies, namely Manhyia North, Klottey Korle, Ablekuma West, Kwesimintim and Kumawu are yet to go through internal elections to choose parliamentary candidates, the party is not behind time.

He mentioned that Nkwanta South was deliberately put aside for a political reason since there is only one candidate in contest.

Touching on those creating confusion in the party, Mr. Agyei Mensah Korsah cautioned that the party has not time to entertain those who are failing to concede defeat as in every election at the constituency levels people will be comfortable with the results.

We have reached the height in the party where if you are NPP member with an issue and you are not able to bring the issue to be resolved at the party level except in court, you should be shown the exit; you should give the executives the benefit of the doubt to resolve internal matters”, he cautioned.
