Cantonments Police Reward 27 Officers

Twenty police officers have been rewarded by the Cantonments District Police for their commitment to duty and hard work in 2015.

The event, the first awards ceremony to be held by the District Command, was in recognition of the exemplary conduct, integrity and outstanding performance of the personnel which led to the arrest and prosecution of criminals and the maintenance of peace and order.

Four officers, including two women, received a cash prize of GH¢1, 000 each from the Unibank Ghana, a plaque and a certificate for going the extra mile in their field of work.

Other officers were rewarded in other categories, including punctuality, reliable and prompt response to telephone calls, effective operations and meticulousness with plaques, pieces of cloths, standing fans, clocks among others.

The Director- General of Services, Commissioner of Police (COP) James Oppong-Boanuh, who chaired the function, said the reward was the reflection of the personnel’s diligent and professional behaviour, which, he said, were in line with the code of conduct of the Ghana Police Service.

He commended the officers for their dedication to their work and for protecting lives and property.

The Cantonments District Police Commander, Superintendent of Police Mrs Brown Mercy Wilson, said the event was to motivate the personnel to work harder, and also to encourage others to give off their best.
