Soldier Shot Dead At Bole

One person is believed dead at Bole in the Northern Region, when the convoy of the DCE, Hon James Jaaga was ambushed by unidentified gunmen believed to be Ivorians.

The incident has been confirmed by the Northern Regional Police PRO ASP Ebenezer Tetteh.

The district security council members were on a fact finding mission. They were going to Dollar Power” a small community which shares borders with Ivory Coast when the incident occurred.

One military officer whose identity was not immediately known was reportedly shot dead while many others who were injured are receiving medical attention at the Bole Hospital.

It is unclear what triggered the shooting but security in the area has been increased.
