Hearts Settles Herbert Addo

Former coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Herbert Addo, has been paid a sum of GHC8,000 out of his GHC16,000 compensation money owed him by the club following a contract termination.

Addo’s contract was terminated in June last year on the back of an inconsistent campaign by the Phobians on the domestic front, especially in the Ghana Premier League leaving  Hearts almost on the brink of relegation .

Lawyers of the trainer had threatened a legal suit against the club last month after breaching the contract of the experienced handler in a contract that was supposed to run for two years.

The legal team of Coach Addo after receiving the amount said, “Because in law when someone owes and the person pays an amount you need to take it but they have promised to settle the rest by next Friday and I hope they fulfil their promise”

In the interim, the board chairman majority shareholder of the club, Togbe Afede XIV has issued a final cheque of GHC 50,000 to the club management to settle all outstanding bills ahead of the start of the new league season on Sunday.

The Phobians will be expected to win their first match against New Edubiase at the Accra Sports Stadium before playing two away games against Medeama SC and Ebusua Dwarfs on Match day two and three respectively to help boost the morale of the team after a very disappointing pre-season under new head Coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.
