Nkroful in massive face-lift

Final preparations are being made in Nkroful, the birthplace of late President Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, in readiness for the celebration of the centenary of Ghana�s first president. A visit too the town by the Ghana news Agency on Wednesday showed that 140 new street lights had been erected along the main road from Essiama to the district assembly block at Nkroful. Homes have been repainted and the national flag is flying on trees and in many homes. Briefing the GNA Mr. Daniel Eshun, the District Chief Executive, said efforts were being made to make the celebration a grand one. He said the late President�s family home had been rehabilitated while rest house, which he built, had also been rehabilitated. The Nkroful Agricultural Senior High School has been painted and the Nkrumah Mausoleum has been painted. Nana Adwobia Kpanyinli, the Abusuapanyin of Dr. Nkrumah�s family, said though feverish preparations were ongoing there was the need to furnish the home with proper furniture and provided with some funds for hospitalities for the many visitors who would visit the home. He said the Nyaniba quarters and tomb must also be properly treated to showcase the legacies of the late President.
