The manager of the Italian giants has revealed a fresh return date of the Ghana international following a series of relapses.
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has shed light on the club’s injury situation ahead of their Serie A clash with Bologna on Friday, with some good tidings for Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah.
The Italian coach had earlier confirmed a date for the 27-year-old’s return to first team training, following a thigh injury sustained in their 3-0 win over Inter Milan in a Coppa Italia fixture last month.
However, Asamoah’s comeback had to be put on hold after suffering a setback.
“[Mario] Mandzukic will return to training with the group on Saturday morning,” Allegri told the press ahead of Friday’s fixture.
“[Giorgio] Chiellini’s situation will be evaluated day by day. [Alex] Sandro could return against Bayern Munich [on Tuesday] and Asamoah will return next week.
“[Juan] Cuadrado trained well but [Simone] Padoin could replace him, [Leonardo] Bonucci will start versus Bologna. [Roberto] Pereyra is in good shape. I consider [Simone] Zaza as a starter like the others and he will start with one of [Alvaro] Morata or [Paulo]Dybala.”
Currently atop of the league standings following last weekend’s 1-0 triumph over Napoli, the Old Lady will hope to go into Tuesday’s Champions League clash with a win over Bologna.
Asamoah will sit out both games but could return in time for a league encounter with Inter Milan on February 28.
