The AC Milan midfielder picks his all-time best manager in his yet-to-be-released autobiography.
Ghana and AC Milan midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has showered praise on his former manager Jurgen Klopp in the player’s yet-to-be-released autobiography.
The 28-year-old joined the German coach at Borussia Dortmund on loan from Premier League side Tottenham in 2009, but despite not signing a permanent deal with BVB, the Ghanaian claims the current Liverpool manager is the most “wicked coach” he has worked with.
“Dortmund was like Christmas, Easter and New Year’s Eve on one day. Klopp’s just the most wicked coach I have ever worked with, and not even because of his sporting skills, but just because he’s a wicked guy,” Bild excerpted from Boateng’s upcoming book.
“That’s why every team he trains will always develop an incredible team spirit, and die for him on the pitch,” he added.
Boateng, until recently, was plying his trade at Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga but suffered suspension on account of indiscipline and never returned to the club. It has been reported that two of the eight chapters in his book focus on his time with The Royal Blues.
However, sporting director for Schalke, Horst Heldt, insists that the now AC Milan player will not reveal anything to tarnish the image of the club because of the existence of a non-disclosure agreement before he left the club.
“It’s no news to me that Boateng wants to publish his memoir,” Heldt said.
“Should there indeed be passages in the book where he makes negative comments about persons formerly or currently at the club [Schalke], he will not be able to sell as many books as the fine will cost him,” he noted.
