Wontumi Should Work And Cease The "Showmanship" - NPP Patron

NPP Patron for Manhyia  North Victor Osei  Poku has advised the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka. Chairman Wontumi to focus on working in line per the position given him to make the region attractive for wining votes on behalf of his party than being interested in unnecessary acts.

Supreme Court on October 2015 gave a directive to the NPP to re-run its polling station and constituency level elections in the Manhyia North constituency before holding the parliamentary primaries.

It was based on this directive from the court that the party slated Monday, 29th February for voting, but it has again been re-scheduled to Thursday 3rd March without any tangible reason given as some party members claim.

However, Mr. Osei Poku, who is the party patron in the constituency claims the date for the voting was changed due to a realization the party chairman had for his supporting candidate that he would lose to the current MP based on reactions made by voting members on the polling grounds yesterday.

Speaking to Okay FM morning show host Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie, he precisely said “NPP in its present state need people who would get to the field and work, so 'Chairman Wontumi' should desist from the act of trying to eliminate some members from their current positions and replacing them with his own people he wants to work with. This proceed of his as chairman for the region would not yield the ultimate goal of the party if he continues to create his own camp of individuals he wants to work with.”

“We are telling Chairman Wontumi to get on the ground and work hard for the party, since that is the most important thing for the party to do in its preparation towards massive victory than to be in the Ashanti Region for showmanship and clapping of hands anytime the flag bearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo visits the region. In fact it would serve him much good if he looks sharp and follow the routes of his predecessors,” he emphatically said.

He indicated that the Ashanti Regional Chairman should bear in mind that he can never realize his dreams when he gets rid of the senior members of the party in the constituency especially the current MP for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwa.
