The former Phobians board member has reiterated that the Japanese manager will end the club's seven-year trophy drought this term.
Former Hearts of Oak board member Commodore Mensah has insisted that new manager Kenichi Yatsuhashi is capable of winning the Ghana Premier League title for the club after seven years without a trophy.
After his appointment late last year, concerns were raised about his ability to lead the Phobians across the new campaign but Hearts have recorded two wins from two matches, against Edubiase United and Medeama, which have seemingly doused criticism from many quarters.
“My first encounter with the coach at a board meeting, he left me in no doubt that he knew his job. I was then prepared to invest my hope and trust in him,” Mensah told Starr FM.
“Yes the role of a coach is very important but the coach alone cannot turn around the fortunes of the club but with the support of the management and board he can deliver the league title,” he added.
The Phobians will hope to continue their demolition exercise next weekend when they travel to Cape Coast to lock horns with returnees Ebusua Dwarfs at the Robert Mensah Stadium.
Hearts, after winning the title in 2009 have seen their fierce rivals Asante Kotoko winning it on three occasions with Aduana Stars, Berekum Chelsea and Ashantigold also winning it once each.
