STATEMENT: Baby Ansabah Has Not Fallen In Love With Nana Addo

My attention has been drawn to a news item quoting me as having allegedly fallen in love with Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s so called True State of the Nation’s Address in response to President John Dramani Mahama’s State of the Nation’s Address delivered to Parliament last week in accordance with article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.

I have by no means fallen in love with Nana Addo, nor the speech or any strand of his speech delivered at the College of Surgeons and Physicians on Monday, 29 February 2016.

All I said was that I did not share the views being shared by certain people that Nana Addo had no locus stands to respond to the President’s speech because we are in a democracy.

Then I made reference to a similar act by then Prof. Mills in 2004 when he presented with his True State of the Nation’s Address to President Kufour.

This in a nutshell, captures the preamble of my initial comments on the Top FM Morning Show hosted by Ekuorba Gyasi on Tuesday.

Also on the panel, was my friend and colleague, juggernaut, Ken A. Kuranchie of the Searchlight Newspaper.  I am aware of my responsibility as a journalist and would not compromise my credibility even if the truth is hard to tell.    Who in Ghana does not know what is going on?

The Ghanaian opposition, particularly, the NPP have kept a blind eye to all the good things that are happening under the current ruling political establishment, just to score cheap political points but some of us, would not allow it.

Let them continue to splash mud at the good works being done to alleviate poverty and ensure a better life for the ordinary Ghanaian.

Nana Addo and his followers have inflicted themselves with deep wounds epitomised by the naked lies they tell about the government and rather than bear the pain of those self-inflicted wounds, judging from the numerous lies they tell, the NPP want the wounds to fester on their opponents to the extent that, they are now begging for power.

Power is not sold on the market like the popular Ga beverage “asana” to be tested before buying.
