For The Love Of Zita; NDC Youth Lash Back At Kpone MP

All seems not to be well within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), following accusations and counter-accusations being hurled at party members, over an opinion expressed, regarding the competence of Information Minister, Mrs. Zita Okaikoi. It all began when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kpone Katamanso in the Greater Accra Region, Hon. Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, called on President Mills to either relieve Information Minister, Mrs. Okaikoi, of her position or re-assign her, for gross ineptitude. Hon. Afotey Agbo told PEACEFM on Friday that Mrs. Okaikoi must re-shuffled as she has been highly deficient in properly explaining government issues to Ghanaians. He believes the Information Minister could perform better in another ministerial role. But barely twenty four hours after the MPs call, irate NDC youth drawn from the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, have descended heavily on him for publicly denigrating the information minister, Zita Sabah Okaikoi. Speaking to PEACEFM News, the spokesperson for the group, Wilson Samba, said the Kpone Katamanso MP was harsh in his assessment of Zita and might have done so based on some extreme dislike for the Information Minister. To be frank, its too harsh. We respect everybody, but what kind of life is this, what kind of people that we have on this planet (behave) like thatif you hate somebody, its that the position to take or how to go about it? he asked. Prez Mills knows the capabilities of the people he appointed as MinistersPrez Mills is not, forgive my language, a foolish person. He knew her (Zitas) ability before nominating her," he said. Mr. Samba also had some unkind words directed at his own party member, when he questioned any significant in-put the Honourable MP had made to enhance the party. What contributions has he (Afotey) made to better the NDC, since the party came to powerwhy cant he call her and tell her his reservations? We dont wash our dirty linen in public, he stated.
