Collins Dauda And Omanhene of Suma Traditional Area Takes Part In A Cleaning Exercise

The Omanhene of Suma Traditional Area, Odeheho Dr Affram Obrempong III has admonished indigenes not to wait for the National Sanitation Day — recently instituted by government — before keeping their surroundings clean.

Odeheho Dr Affram Obrempong III was joined by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon Collins Dauda and hundreds of town members to clean the township last Saturday - the cleaning up exercise is part of activities to mark the town’s Akwantokesie festival.

Nana commended his town people for their participation and urged them to be clean because a town void of dirt will be free from all kinds of diseases.

He reminded the volunteers taking part in the cleanup exercise that it cost a lot of money to treat diseases, such as cholera, that come about as a result of poor sanitation.

Hon. Collins Dauda who played a keen role in the cleaning up exercise also lauded the town folks for their preparedness to help keep the town clean.

The minister however pledged a 20-seater KVIP toilet for the town in appreciation of their activeness in cleaning up their town – according to him, “We must take part in the National sanitation Day and forget it is the initiative of the government. We must all know that cleanliness is next to Godliness”
