Lets Kickout Lazy Workers From Office...

Respected statesman, K. B. Asante, has said the 59th Independence Day anniversary of Ghana should be a wake up call for the West African nation to make amends with its developmental agenda.

But in doing so, he said Ghana must look at its human resource base and get rid of underperforming personnel from its various institutions.

This, he believes, is the first step towards achieving greatness as a nation.

“If someone is not doing his work well, we should dealth with him or her. If we pay someone to see to it that what we eat is good, standards are good – that the palm oil we buy is good and it is not going to poison us – and if that person is doing his work well, we should get rid of him.

“At 59, that is what we should be doing”, he posited when interacting with Kasapa  FM, Monday.
The retired diplomat said he is livid at the slow pace of Ghana’s development, stressing that overreliance on development partners is hurting the progress of the former British colony.

“We are living in some kind of mediocrity. Ghanaians are not doing well because we have lost our self confidence. We seem to believe that others are going to develop our country for us. This is nonsense. We alone can develop it. But we got to suffer a little for it. We don’t have to ask someone to come and balance our budget for us.

“When we are given some money, we should spend it wisely. We don’t have to borrow and use it foolishly. Once we borrow, we should use it for the intended purpose”, he added.
