Emmanuel Atta Twum Should Go On Sick Leave NDC Executives

National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives in Atiwa constituencies in the Eastern region are calling on President Mahama allow District Chief Executive to go on sick leave.

According to them, Mr. Emmanuel Atta Twum’s ill-health is affecting socio-economic development in the area.

Mr. Twum collapsed when reading his speech at the Akyem-Kwabeng Presbyterian Park during the Independence Day parade.

Sunday was not the first time the DCE fell at a public event. Sometime July last year he collapsed while responding to accusations of neglect by his constituency executives in Koforidua. He fell unconscious again during last December's Farmers Day celebrations in Akyem-Akropong.

Mr. Emmanuel Atta Twum also collapsed during a harvest ceremony at the Tumfa Presbyterian church in Atiwa.

Based on this backdrop, the Atiwa West constituency communication officer, Charles k. Amankwa said the DCE must be given ample time to cure himself before being assigned for a national job.

In an interview with Adom News, he what happened at Sunday’s 59th independence parade is the fifth time the DCE has embarrassed government in public.

Charles Amankwa believes the only solution is to allow the DCE to go and rest to save himself from public ridicule.

Most importantly, he added that the NDC ahead of the November 7 polls needs a very healthy DCE to lead to party’s campaign for 50 percent votes in the Eastern region.

Charles Amankwa said they have petitioned President Mahama to as a matter of urgency act fast to redeem the image of the party.
