Reverend Paul Frimpong, the Sunyani branch head pastor of the Action Faith Chapel International has entreated women to pray to God for a peaceful elections and aftermath this year when Ghanaians will go to polls to elect its presidents and law makers.
He observed that the peace the country is now enjoying should be protected and not be taken for granted urging all Ghanaians, especially women, to fervently intercede for God’s intervention for a peaceful atmosphere before, during and after the election.
Rev. Frimpong made the call at a programme organised by the Redemption Care International, a Sunyani-based Christian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) on Tuesday at Abesim, near Sunyani to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day celebration.
The programme, under the theme “When Sleeping Women Awake” and attended by religious and women groups, as well as the general public aimed at praying for the sustainability of the nation’s peace towards the Election 2016.
The man of God observed that women and children who were the most affected whenever there was chaos in the any country, needed to accept the responsibility to be peace ambassadors in their respective communities to nib in a bud any violent occurrence anywhere in the country.
Rev. Frimpong called on all to guard against, utterances, actions or anything which had the tendency to ignite conflicts and plunge the nation into war.
Nana Yaa Abrafi, founder of the Redemption Care International, noted that as managers of their homes, women possessed some God-given talents that had made them very good leaders in their communities since time immemorial.
She encouraged women never to belittle themselves but to always have self-confidence and aim high with persistent prayer to contribute positively to the development of their families, communities and country.
