It Will Be A Disgrace If Ejisu-Juaben Reject Me Again - Yamoah Ponkor Begs

Former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region, Kwaku Afrifa Yamoah Ponkor is crying out to the Assembly members not to reject him for the second time as President Mahama has reappointed him to take up the MCE job.

President Mahama nominated some Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives for the various districts across the country last year and among the persons nominated was former MCE for Ejisu-Juaben, Yamoah Ponkor but unfortunately he was rejected by the Assembly members during voting.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has again nominated Yamoah Ponkor for the same Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly job after not meeting the Constitutional two-third of votes required; thus, he is going back to face the same people who didn’t vote for him again.

Due to this second chance, Yamoah Ponkor on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show appealed to Ejisu-Juaben Assembly members not to repeat their earlier mistake and rather vote massively for him to continue the good work he started.

He however averred “It is a disgrace to reject the President's appointees”; adding that “I know my siblings at Ejisu-Juaben will not repeat such mistake they did earlier. The painful aspect of it is that, if a President nominates someone and we reject the person, it speaks volumes about the level of disgrace.”

He maintained it is not easy for the President to appoint someone and then the Assembly members, due to politics will reject the appointee.

He therefore reminded the Assembly members of Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly not to forget the district development agenda which is very paramount than the political affiliation of the appointee.
