It Will Be Disastrous To Lose Confidence In The EC Kabila Warns

Director of Elections and Campaign Strategist for the Convention People’s Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh says citizens of this nation would be leading the country into a terrible arena if they continue to lose hope and confidence in our electoral system.

He noted that it is the responsibility of every Ghanaian to work towards a free and fair elections come 7th November and not only the Electoral Commission.

“As I have already said, if we don’t make good declarations for the EC we should have ourselves to blame for the consequences. Also if we lose confidence in the electoral systems as the option of changing government or electing our leaders into power, then we should know we are indirectly calling for an alternative, which would not be the best for Ghana,” he said.

Speaking to Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ morning show host, Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie, Kabila as he is popularly called urged Ghanaians especially spokespersons for the various political parties to bear in mind that their false statements against officers of the Electoral Commission would rather destroy the works of the commission, which would go against the state and not the individuals as officers of the commission.

One problem I have with the EC is to make sure it lives up to the timetable it came out with last year because already some changes have been made in the programme specified.

He praised the EC for the good work done so far especially with the pilot registration which would demonstrate to them on what to do next towards the coming polls.

He asserted “Ghanaians should leave the EC to do their work per the constitution of the commission whiles he begged Mrs Charlotte Osei to work together with colleagues, stakeholders available and the experience given her by Afari Gyan, former commissioner of board.”
