Deputy Power Minister John Jinapor has welcomed the impending debate between President John Dramani Mahama and Nana Addo.

President John Dramani Mahama on TV3 'New Day' threw a challenge to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo to debate him on the current state of the economy.

The President expressed his readiness to engage Nana Addo at all levels of the debate to ensure the confidence of Ghanaians in his government.

In a response to President John Mahama, Nana Addo tweeted he is also ready for the debate, saying "will @JDMahama debating me solve #Ghana's problems? If so then I am ready to debate him anytime, anywhere and any day."

Speaking on 'kokrokoo' on Peace FM, the Deputy Power Minister expressed peculiar interest in what will become a historic event in Ghana, believing the debate will help Ghanaians get to know the truth in the numerous accusations hurled at President John Mahama.

He held that the debate should come off for Nana Addo to be place at where he belongs.

“I relish that debate. I will really relish it. President Mahama has said things and Nana Addo has also said lots of things; accusations and so forth. They should meet and debate for us to know the outcome," he stated.
