Salary Validation Exercise: Deadline Extended To April 15

Teachers and education workers have been given an April 15 deadline for them to submit particulars for the validation process, which will ensure the payment of their salary arrears.

This is one month later than the original scheduled date.

The team, working on the validation, has so far received application forms in excess of 60,000, a statement jointly issued by the teacher unions on Tuesday, March 15 said.

Those whose forms were queried have also been asked to “urgently respond to the queries to enable the validating team validate their document(s) for prompt payment of the salary arrears”.

However, district and regional directors of education have also been directed to submit before Friday, March 18 the rest of the data (if any) to Ghana Education Service headquarters for onward submission to the validation team for validation and subsequent payment.

The validation process was aimed at investigating Teachers with fake documents and other related issues before their salaries were paid.

Teachers in the wake of this exercise were asked to submit and file their documents in June 2013 and August 2014 through their various district directorates for clearance.
