Baby Race Interrupted By Nap Time (VIDEOS)

A crawling race which sees infants race to the finish line on their hands and knees was almost a photo finish until one competitor decided to take a nap halfway through.

The baby race was held by The Sacramento Kings basketball team in a break from their game to celebrate family day. Landon looked set to take first place in California until he dozed off ahead of the finish line, in a hilarious video that has been viewed thousands of times on Twitter. The event on Sunday saw both sets of parents stand at either end of the court to encourage their children to crawl to the other side.

However once the race had started many of the babies chose to ignore their beckoning parents and stayed put apart from two little troopers, Landon and Gemma, who sped off towards the finish line.

It looked like it could have been a photo finish until Landon decided to take a nap as he was inches away from victory. An anxious-looking Gemma overtook and came first in the race but Landon proved the biggest crowd-pleaser, with both the audience and the commentator erupting with laughter following his sleepy stunt.

Landon has become a hit across the web with the video receiving more than 32,000 views since it was posted to Twitter on Sunday.
