Bongo Constituency NPP Inaugurates Campaign Team

Leadership of the biggest opposition New Patriotic Party, NPP, in the Bongo Constituency, has launched its campaign team ahead of the November 2016 general elections with a call on the members of the campaign team to work assiduously to enable the party clinch the seat come November 7.

Speaking at the Inaugural ceremony, the Bongo Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Peter Ayimbisa said there was the need for the campaign team to put all hands on the wheel to work collectively to improve the electoral fortunes of the party and also secure a historical resounding victory for the party and its Parliamentary Candidate, Gabriel Agana.

He said although the party had never won the Bongo seat, its tremendous improvement in previous elections spoke volumes of the party's chance of flogging the Presidential Candidate of the governing National Democratic Congress, NDC, Mr. John Dramani Mahama and the parliamentary candidate, Edward Bawa to emerge a decisive victory.

Mr. Ayimbisa conceded that it was a herculean task to win the seat in the November 7 parliamentary and presidential polls but was optimistic that the party would sail through if the members of the party in the constituency were united.

He added that the party under his stewardship, would devise a strategy known as "operation door-to- door" to keep alive its desperate dream of winning the forthcoming parliamentary and presidential race.

"Let's go all out to make our party's presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo proud by campaigning vigorously for him and his parliamentary candidate to crown victory in the upcoming elections, which are expected to be hotly contested", he added.

For his part, the parliamentary candidate, Mr. Agana entreated the members of the campaign team to make peace and unity their watchword so as to appeal to appeal to the masses.

He further entreated them to be proactive and work together as a team to rebrand to be attractive to the broad spectrum of the electorate in the constituency.

The Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Mutala Mohanmed, who graced the occasion, called on the electorate of the constituency to vote out the NDC in the impending general elections, accusing it of imposing untenable and unbearable taxes on the people.

He stressed that the people of Bongo and for that matter Ghanaians had suffered under the stewardship of the Mahama and his NDC-led reign following the debilitating economy that had confronted the country over years.
