How Nsowah Was Booted Out

The immediate past coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), has in telephone interview with the New Crusading Guide (NCG) newspaper, confirmed how he was booted out of office by the Mills-led National Democratic Congress government. Mr. Michael said yesterday that he only received a letter dated 18th August, 2009, asking him to hand over as the coordinator of the GSFP as his contract had been terminated. He said the letter never gave reasons for the termination of his contract. As at yesterday afternoon when the NCG caught up with him on his phone, Mr. Nsowah said I am in the office putting things together; preparing my handing over notes. Asked whether the termination of his appointment was due to his incompetence, he retorted I am not the best person to access my performance - somebody has to but so far, since I have received no complaint, I think that so far so good. He continued that though he was leaving office, he still thought that the confusion that rocked the programme a fortnight ago was unnecessary and that it could have been averted if due process had been followed. He disclosed that his office was not presented with any new names or made aware of any new contracts with any new caterers. Mr. Nsowah said that although it was the responsibility of the Municipal and District Assemblies to contract caterers, his office had not been aware of any new appointments until just last week when he heard it in the media. Up till now, we owe 17 days of last term and we are still trying to access funds from the Ministry of Finance to clear that debt, he revealed.
