THE DCE for Atwima Nwabiagya in the Ashanti Region, Hon Nana Asare Bediako aka Obama, on Friday displayed abundance of wealth as he freely sprayed cash during a public programme at Kumasi.
The flamboyant-looking DCE virtually stole the show during the opening ceremony of a five-week training programme for 836 Community Police Assistants drawn from the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions.
Obama, who was certainly looking over-excited, threw money on the recruits of the Youth Enterprise Agency (YEA) programme and policemen who took to the dancing floor minutes before the start of the ceremony.
It all started when the organisers of the important programme decided to organise a short dancing competition to entertain the crowd as the start of the programme had delayed due to the late arrival of some dignitaries.
Obama, who was seated on the dais with other top dignitaries, suddenly jumped onto the dancing floor where some of the YEA recruits were majestically dancing and danced with them.
The clearly overjoyed DCE then dug his hands into his pocket and started throwing GH¢10 notes at the YEA recruits who were on the dancing floor, amid shouts of joy by the charged crowd, after which he took his seat on the dais again.
Minutes later, a policewoman stormed the dancing floor to display her dancing prowess and Obama quickly left the dais and resumed throwing the GH¢10 notes on the dancer.
A section of the jubilant crowd was heard shouting the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC’s) ‘Better Ghana’ slogan and this seemed to have charged Obama as he threw more money on the dancer before retiring to his seat.
