There Are Factions In The NPP Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has disclosed that “there are factions” in the NPP.

The former Sports Administrator speaking during an interview with Kafui Dey, co-host of GhToday on GHONETV on Monday 21,  also maintained that though he doesn’t “belong to any of the factions”, and he cannot “tell which of the factions is winning.“

Factions within the largest opposition party NPP over the years have allegedly revolved around Ex- President John Agyekum Kufuor and current presidential hopeful, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo under whose reign as flagbearer saw the suspension of the outspoken Messrs. Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong, Chairman and General Secretary of the NPP respectively.

He said “until now no one has given me a reason for my suspension” adding that he cannot fathom why the NPP suspended Kwabena Agyepong who was keenly working in the interest of the party.

Expressing his thoughts on leadership, Dr. tamakloe stated that “Ghana needs someone who will reason carefully before he speaks” and “this nation should look for a leader who will build bridges.”

Dr. Tamakloe commended the Mahama led-Administration for the good work they are doing in the countryside.

He insisted that: “Just like Nkrumah did”; the “NDC is working” a lot in the rural areas. “We shouldn’t think they are just sitting there aloof”, adding that elections are won at the polling stations hence those who “do Accra politics” are wasting their time.

In relation to Mahama’s family, Dr Nyaho Tamakloe said that Ibrahim Mahama is a “nephew and my blood and I don’t care what the NPP thinks about it.”

With respect to his wealth,  Dr Tamakloe expressed unequivocally that Ibrahim Mahama  “makes his money in mining mostly outside the country. Thus “I don’t know any major offer that NDC has given Ibrahim.”
