Northern School of Business Closed Down

Northern School of Business (NOBISCO) in Tamale has been shut down following a directive from Ghana Education Service, after students of the school destroyed properties belonging to the school.

According to PEACE FM’s Northern Regional correspondent, Akyereba Kwabena, some students of the school went contrary to rules given to them by teachers of the school not to leave the compound after they had observed the Independence Day celebrations in the region.

Students who left the school premises by climbing walls were asked to buy two bags of cement for the school which has been the norm in the school for years if students climbed the school walls or destroy properties belonging to the school.

After the punishment to produce the bags of cement was meted out to them, they went on rampage destroying facilities at the school, which is expected to close the current academic term by Thursday, March 24.

About 160 Students whose names were posted on the schools’ notice board as victims of insubordination embarked on a demonstration last Thursday, 13th March 2016 destroying properties belonging to the school.

According to information not all students have finished writing their terminal examinations and so the development will disrupt the school's academic calendar.
