Jake Was A Master of Manifesto Preparation - Osafo-Marfo

Former Finance Minister in the erstwhile Kufour administration, Yaw Osafo-Marfo says the death of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, the former National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will cause a dearth in the party’s manifesto preparation.

According to him “If someone understands politics and understands public speaking and someone really understands manifesto preparation, then it is Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.”

Speaking on Okay FM’s 'Ade Akye Abia' Morning Show, the founding member of the NPP averred the death of the former Minister of Tourism is a great loss to the NPP and Ghana at large because he was too experienced in politics and marketing which manifested during the 2000 election campaign and in the tourism sector.

Touching on the late Jake’s communication skills, Osafo-Marfo confessed that the former Chief of Staff schooled him on public speaking on how to convince Ghanaians on the need for the country to go for the HIPC program.

“Jake truly understood communication and he used it to help our party and Ghana as a whole...he was very much concerned about what you say and who says it. He is professionally a marketing man and introduced the profession in politics,” he eulogised Jake.

He stressed that the death of Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey has left a deep cut in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as he was always looking out for ways which will benefit the party.
