Give Us A Win ! Minister Charges Stars

Youth and Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye has tasked the Black Stars to employ every tactics to emerge victorious when they face Mozambique tomorrow in Accra, as well as in the return leg on Sunday.

In return, he has promised the team to reward them accordingly for their efforts.

Welcoming the Stars on day one of their training session in Accra, he indicated that government and his outfit have put in place measures, by way of motivation to spur the team on for the back-to-back task.

The newly-appointed sports chief described the double assignment as critical considering the fact that it is his first official assignment since taking over from Dr Mustafa Ahmed a few months ago.

He commended the team highly for defying the wet weather to put an appearance for rehearsal on Monday; describing it as a mark of true patriots.
The Odododiodio MP urged the team to play above themselves to make Ghana happy in the Nation Cup qualifier.

He said in his inaugural speech that “… we should look at what is ahead of us and not concentrate on what is past. What is important is to see you win on Thursday. It is the first team match that I will be witnessing as a Minister, at the end of the day all I want is a victory and not even a draw.”

“I am concerned about you as a player, I know what a player needs to motivate him and to push him to do above himself and that is what Ghanaians will be looking for. Doing something more than what is expected of you, that little thing, that notch above is what all is expected of you on Thursday and the return leg.”

“We want you to win the double header and as such everything that we will do as country we will do it to show appreciation, all other issue will be handled by the Ministry and Management.”
