Government will ensure justice for the family of Frank Yeboah - Agyenim Boateng

Mr. James Agyenim Boateng, Deputy Minister of Information, on Wednesday assured the family of Frank Yeboah, the 21-year-old man who was shot by a security patrol team at Kokomlemle, an Accra suburb, last Saturday that the perpetrators would be prosecuted. He said government had instituted investigations into the incident conveyed and incident and would ensure justice prevailed to relieve the family of the trauma. Mr. Agyenim Boateng, who paid a visit to the home of the deceased in the company of his colleague Deputy, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, conveyed government�s condolence and urged the family to inform government about the funeral arrangements. Mr. Kwaku Yeboah, father of the deceased, briefing the delegation, said the incident could have been avoided if the police had exercised restraint. Mr. Yeboah, a transport owner, said his son and girlfriend were on board a Toyota Corolla saloon car with a trial number plate from Avenor to Kokomlemle at about 2000 hours when the incident occurred. He said an eyewitness said on the way, they spotted the patrol team�s vehicle parked on a pavement and as soon as they drove along they heard firing of shots and which hit in the deceased in the ribs causing him to bleed profusely. Mr. Yeboah said four bullets were removed from the ribs of his son at the hospital but that could not save him. �I have lodged a complaint with the police and hope government will endeavour to bring justice to the family, �he said.
