Ghana Coach Avram Grant Blasts CAF

Ghana coach Avram Grant has expressed displeasure at the tight schedule for this month’s double 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former Chelsea manager and his troops will have to play two matches against Mozambique in three days.

The Black Stars played the first of two qualifiers against Mozambique in Accra on Thursday which they won 3-1.

The team left the shores of the country on Friday for the second leg in Mozambique and arrived on Saturday morning.

Black stars could have just one training session before the match against Os Mambas on Sunday.

Grant says the players health should have been considered while taking the decision.

"It was a long Journey, 7 hours and we needed to wake up early for training. Which is not good for sports," Grant said.

"It's very difficult. Players sometimes come from America and Far East. They need to fly a lot. Players are the performers and they are needed to be at their best mentally and physically. CAF need to think about it.

"They [CAF] need to think about the players and how it can be better. It's not good for u s[Black Stars] and other teams"

However, Grant believes he can get the best out of his players on the day.

"If I have a chance to change something even if it's 10 percent I will always fight against this. But since I cannot change anything, I am trying to take best of the players. There are games every days and we have to be ready."
