Kwesi Nyantakyi Reveals FA Not Privy To Black Stars Bonus Cut Talks

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has revealed he knows nothing about the winning bonus cut for the senior national team.

Nyantakyi claims he got to know about the 20% reduction in the media last week ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique in Maputo last Sunday.

Ghana’s leading football website,www.GHANASoccernet.com, broke the news about the Sports Minister Nii Lante Vanderpuye’s meeting with the players where the amount of US$ 8,000 instead of US$ 10,000 was agreed.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan, Mubarak Wakaso and injured Andre Ayew, who joined the negotiation on phone, met Vanderpuye.

"I am not privy to any discussion with players or the minister on this matter. I read in the media that the minister has negotiated for the reduction of bonuses with players," Nyantakyi said on GTV Sports Plus Inquest programme.

"I’m not privy to that. I don’t know about that. I have not heard it from the Minister I have not heard it from the players. I only read about from the media."

The issue about bonuses for the Black Stars players has been discussed in media circles and this has been the first successful talk since 2012.

Black Stars players also agreed to be paid in Ghana Cedis and not dollars.
