Abu Jinapor says Businessman and Director of Marbles and Granites Dr. Edmund Ayo Ani should pursue legal action against the National Security Advisor to President John Mahama and the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

The BNI arrested Dr. Edmund Ayo Ani for taking pictures of vehicles in the facility of the National Security Advisor Alhaji Baba Kamara.

Baba Kamara accused him (Dr. Ayo) of circulating information on social media that he had diverted vehicles meant for the NCCE to the NDC.

About 50 vehicles are said to be re-branded at a facility belonging to Baba Kamara on the Spintex Road, next to the premises of Marbles and Granites.

The National Security Advisor confirmed to Joy News he ordered the arrest, alleging that it was not right for Dr. Ayo to take pictures of vehicles in the facility and post them on social media.

Making his submissions on 'kokrokoo' on Peace FM, Abu Jinapor, former aide to NPP Flagbearer Nana Addo, held strongly that the BNI and the National Security Advisor infringed on the rights of Dr. Ayo by arresting him for taking photographs.

According to him, there is no law in the nation that prohibits an individual from taking pictures of private properties.

He explained that Baba Kamara should have sought legal action against Dr. Ayo if he had an issue with the latter over taking photographs of the vehicle.

To him, what Dr. Ayo did is not a criminal activity and also wondered why the BNI would arrest him.

“If someone has gone to take pictures of the private residence of Mr. Kamara, I’m yet to be told which law in our country criminalizes the taking of a photograph of a private property of an individual and the private property is with emphasis.”

Abu Jinapor concluded that Dr. Ayo's behaviour could be said to be "not good. It’s awful. It’s immoral. It’s unfair. He didn’t do well. Why did he do that to Mr. Kamara? It’s not good. It’s even unchristian. It’s unislamic but it’s not a crime. It is not crime and because it is not a crime, BNI had no business arresting him. They flouted his right. He may go to court. It is a decision he may take.”
