The Eastern Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr Mohammed Pelpuo, said the agency would soon train personnel on the new Electronic Health (E-health) system to improve quality healthcare services.
He said that the new module to be introduced by the YEA and World Vision International, a Non-Governmental Organisation, would equip trainees with mobile phones networked by the NGO, to work hand in hand with the Community Health Planning and Services in deprived areas to ensure that the health needs of the people were met.
Mr Pelpuo, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said currently the first batch of about 208 males from the Eastern Region and an additional 178 males from Cape Coast were undergoing a four-week training in Community Policing Assistantship at the Koforidua Police Depot whilst 153 females had been sent to the Volta Region for the same training.
Trainees, he said, would be deployed to their various towns and districts to assist the police.
He advised potential recruits to go according to the criteria used in selecting the personnel for the various fields to avert any technical errors.
Mr Pelpuo explained that selections were being done by the YEA and assisted by officials from the various security services to ensure that the right people were selected for the training.
He, therefore, advised the youth to take the jobs offered them seriously since it could enable them to become permanent workers of that particular field.
